護照

近幾年來﹐申請護照的規定改變極大。申請新護照的方法和要求將因應你的年齡和情況而有所不同。請選擇下列項目細閱有關詳情。

Electronic Passport Applications Available

New electronic passport application forms for all passport services, including passport renewals and adding visa pages, are available. Please complete your passport application on-line using this new form. You may fill out the required forms using the Passport Wizard at the following site: https://pptform.state.gov/?Submit=COMPLETE+FORM+DS-4085+ONLINE. When you have completed the form – providing all of the requested information – print it out and bring it with you to your appointment. Use of the electronic passport form will help us process your application faster, decreasing your wait time.

** You will need to select the "Create Form" button, print out the passport form and bring it with you to the appointment.

** Please note – you will have to list a zip code in the electronic form, even for overseas addresses. For overseas addresses, please use "00000" for the zip code.

New Application for a U.S. Passport
To obtain a passport for the first time, you need to come in person to the U.S. Consulate General with two photographs of yourself, proof of U.S. citizenship, and a valid form of photo identification such as a U.S. driver's license or Hong Kong I.D. card.

You'll need to apply in person if you are applying for a U.S. passport for the first time: if your expired U.S. passport is not in your possession; if your previous U.S. passport has expired and was issued more than 15 years ago; if your previous U.S. passport was issued when you were under age 16; or if your currently valid U.S. passport has been lost or stolen.

Renewal of a U.S. Passport
You can renew in person or via a third person if: Your most recent passport is available to submit and it is not damaged; you received the passport within the past 15 years; you were over age 16 when it was issued; you still have the same name, or can legally document your name change; you are physically present in Hong Kong or Macau.

If you meet the above criteria you can apply using form DS-82, available online.

If your passport has been, altered or damaged, you cannot apply via a third person. You must apply in person.

PASSPORT CARD

Passport cards are now available to American citizens living overseas. The passport card requires the same application forms as regular passport books, and you can apply for a passport card when applying for your regular passport. Please note: passport cards take up to four weeks from application to receipt, and will be mailed separately from passport books, which take only 7-10 days to receive. For many adult applicants, you can renew apply for a passport card without making a personal appearance at the Consulate. Your assistant or helper can bring everything to the Consulate for processing, saving you the trip.

You can request a passport card without a personal appearance if––

You were issued your most recent U.S. passport at age 16 or older and within the past fifteen years, and

You can submit your most recent passport (even if it has already expired within the past fifteen years as long as you meet the other criteria, below), and

Your most recent U.S. passport was issued for full validity and

Your name will remain the same as on your most recent passport.

If you are not eligible to apply for your passport card, you must come to the Consulate yourself in person and apply.

Please make an appointment in your own name, even if an assistant or helper will bring in your application for you. All services are provided by appointment only. Appointments are made online. Make Appointment!
